"Believed to be Maria Glover, dau. of Elizabeth Lewis Glover, Mt. Ephraim, N.J."

Elizabeth Lewis (1790-1849) married James Glover (1788-1855) and had the following children:
John Thorne Glover, Lydia Glover, W Ridgway Glover (1831-1866) and Maria (or Mariah) Glover (1826-?)
There were probably 3 other children who died young: Joseph, James Jones and James.

The Glover family descended from Richard Glover, a weaver from England who moved to America in
the 18th century. The Glovers were Quakers and owned land in the Haddon Heights and Mt Ephraim
area of New Jersey. Not much is known about Maria, but Ridgway Glover was an important photographer.
He went West to photograph the Indians for the Smithsonian. Despite warnings, he often went out on his
own to study wildlife, which led to his death. He was killed by the Indians and his photos went missing.
They were the only pictures taken of the treaty conference at Ft. Laramie.

He stayed at Fort Phil Kearny where a Captain Tenedor Ten Eyck stayed as well.
Perhaps he's related to this Ten Eyck.
